Sugar is addictive plain and simple.  Our brains are hard-wired to release a big shot of joy whenever we taste sweetness by releasing a chemical called dopamine which sparks our brains pleasure centers.  The average American consumes about 152 pounds of sugar a year or about 22 teaspoons a day.  Sugar in all its forms has created our obesity epidemic and most of the chronic diseases plaguing our society today.

Weight Loss- Sugar is 50% glucose and 50% fructose.  Fructose bypasses the gut and goes straight to the liver.  Which gets stored as glycogen which is converted into glucose for use throughout the body and triglycerides which are fat.  Removing all sugars from your diet will lead to weight loss.  

Increased Energy- Sugar wreaks havoc on our bodies.  Filling up on processed sugary snacks and meals will lead to a slump in energy later in your day.  Replacing those food choices with unprocessed whole foods energy levels will remain level and you will not be reaching for a cookie in the afternoon to keep you going.
